DANIEL'S 8TH GRADE GRADUATION
Well, Dan is officially a High School Student now. He graduated from Middle School on June 18, 2008.
YOUTH CONFERENCE
This year was Daniel's first time attending youth conference and it was a big one. The stake youth leaders had decided early in the year that this would be a trek reenactment. That means the youth would dress as church pioneers from the 1850's, load their belongings on a handcart and pull/push the handcart through the forest for 2 and 1/2 days. Dan really got into the dress up part - I had to make his pioneer type shirts and he wanted me to make pants but I gave up and we went to Salvation Army to make our purchases. He did wear suspenders and a hat (purchased from Wal-mart). One of our friends, who works at Old Sturbridge Village, brought along some old costume vests and Dan and Fred were even able to keep them after the trek was over! They had a great time and learned much about how difficult it was to settle the west.
