OCTOBER 15 - 19, 2007 - A TRIP TO ENGLAND

Fred left on a business trip to England on Monday, October 15th. Due to the short notice, I was not able to make arrangements to go with him but if he goes again - I'm there! Originally he expected to return on Thursday, the 18th, but the week before leaving he was informed that when traveling overseas, the trip needed to be a minimum length of 4 days in country, so the trip was extended one day to meet those requirements.

He and his traveling companion had been discussing who would be doing the driving over there. They were both a little nervous about driving on the opposite side of the road. Well the choice was easy because Fred's license had just been renewed for his birthday so he still had the paper slip and not a real license. The rental car company in England wouldn't allow him to be the driver. The other man did a fine job driving and didn't ever try to drive on the wrong side of the road!

The hotel room was pretty nice, a little smaller than here in the states but equipped with all the necessities even though some of them were hard to figure out. Fred had to take a bath for the first two days because it took him some time to make the shower work. Also, the heat was not turned on yet so the room was chilly at night. Thank goodness the weather was decent.
